Breakdown Recovery

Breakdown Recovery

Firstline Breakdown Recovery

Breaking down on a journey is always annoying and disruptive, but it can also be frightening, particularly on long journeys in an unfamiliar area. In a breakdown situation FirstLine Recovery provide a fast, reliable service to repair or move your stranded vehicle to a safe place where it can be restored. Our efficient office team are trained to promptly understand your exact location and dispatch the nearest fleet vehicle to you. All of our recovery vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking so that our office staff know exactly where we are in relation to you and can guide us to your precise location, while keeping you updated and reassured that help is on the way.
Our recovery fleet is available for cars, vans, motorbikes and commercial vehicles and we are able to recover caravans and trailers (but please let our office staff know this is required when you call).
On arrival, our experienced recovery driver is equipped with blankets, water and mobile phone charging facilities to make you as comfortable as possible while your breakdown is assessed. In most circumstances you’ll be back on the road in no time, but in situations where on-site repair is not possible our recovery driver will deliver you, your passengers and your vehicle safely home, onwards to your destination or to the nearest garage. It’s completely up to you.
Our breakdown recovery service is available throughout London, Surrey, Sussex, Essex and Kent and our lines are open 24 hours a day, every day. When you need us, we’ll be there.

Stay Safe in Breakdown Situations:

  • Look out for breakdown early warning signs and take action. If you notice strange noises, unusual vibrations, smoke or anything else that makes you feel uncomfortable, slow down and find a safe place to park.
  • Switch on hazard lights. In miserable weather it’s a good idea to switch on your side lights too to give other road users the best chance to see your vehicle.
  • Pull over to a safe place. If you’re on the motorway and can’t make it to an exit or services you’ll need to pull on to the hard shoulder. Park as far to the left as possible and point your wheels left to avoid the car rolling into traffic.
  • If you have reflective clothing, put it on. You and your passengers should exit the vehicle, so long as it is safe to do so, through the left side (passenger side) doors. If you’re travelling with pets it’s usually safer to leave them in the car, making sure the windows are cracked and water is provided.
  • On quieter country roads place a hazard warning triangle 50 yards behind your vehicle on the same side of the road so that other road users can prepare.
  • Move away from the vehicle and the road as far as it is safe to do so.
  • Call FirstLine Recovery and let our operators know your location. If you’re in an unfamiliar place and have a smartphone you might be able to find your exact location from it, otherwise our operators will help you to find out where you are.
  • Keep warm, safe and visible until our recovery driver can reach you. Stay calm, help is on the way.
